Steel plate thickness tolerance charts
Steel plate thickness tolerance charts
The tolerance of the thickness of the steel plate refers to the difference between the thickness of the steel plate and its standard specification.
When manufacturing steel plates or steel pipes, it is limited by factory technology and has limited precision. It is impossible to roll a completely flat steel plate, and it will not be exactly the same as the nominal thickness. Therefore, the thickness of the steel plate or steel pipe produced is a range. In order to ensure the quality of steel products, and to facilitate the design of steel products such as containers, the allowable tolerance of steel thickness is specified by technical standards and specifications.
The value of the allowable tolerance of the thickness of the steel plate will be different in different standard systems, and the standard of the same system will change as the standard is updated.
Thickness negative tolerances are more and more important than positive thickness deviations. Negative thickness tolerances are used in strength design, stiffness design, and structural design. Positive tolerances are only used when equipment with higher accuracy requirements or civil infrastructure design.
The current Chinese national standard stipulates that the general thickness of the low-alloy steel plate for pressure vessels is -0.3mm, the carbon steel is -0.8mm, the negative tolerance of the thickness of the high-alloy steel hot-rolled steel plate is -0.3mm, the high-alloy steel hot-rolled steel plate And steel strips vary with steel plate thickness and accuracy grade, but the maximum is no more than -0.3mm. The negative tolerance of the thickness of the steel pipe is generally expressed as a percentage of the thickness of the standard specification. It should be noted that as the steel rolling technology advances, the standard will be updated and the value will be reduced. Therefore, it is not static.

Specification
Specification | The thickness of the composite steel plate is not less than 8mm, and the thickness of the composite steel strip is 4mm~8mm. |
Composite steel plate width 1450mm ~ 3000mm, composite steel strip width 1000mm ~ 1400mm
Composite steel plate and steel strip length 4000mm ~ 10000mm
The thickness of the composite layer is from 0.5 mm to 14 mm, usually from 2 mm to 3 mm. It can also be determined by the supplier and the buyer according to the needs of the buyer.
Minimum thickness of the base layer: When the total thickness of the composite steel plate is >8mm, the minimum thickness of the base layer is 6mm, and the minimum thickness of the base layer of the composite steel strip is agreed by the supplier and the buyer. |
